Ants in my pants!
35 Answers
Well ok, not in my pants- but I do have the little bu88ers in my living room!
I've no idea where they're coming in from, or why they here to begin with. We're currently in the middle of having the road dug up (gas) outside, so I'm assuming it might have something to do with that?
Anyway regardless, the little sods, seem to be congregating round my fireplace- suppose they don't like being cold??
Anyone any idea's how I can get rid of them? I'm itching at the thought of them- help me before i crack!!

If there's a direct route and a food source jno, that's exactly what the blighters do.
Boobies..... Camped in the red desert on new years eve, ants nests and indeed ants as far as the eye could see... And these bar stewards looked like the queens do over here. Plus one set bit you if you accidently got one on you (or stood on their nest) and the bulleys squirted stingy stuff at you... That was a great new years eve that was.

rofl boxtops, very good! I marked your answer as "best answer" for it. Not sure what you get for that. Maybe a tube of Smarties in the post from Ed & Co perhaps?
Not seen any since i sprinkled (white) pepper on floor, so its either keeping them at bay for now (I have visions of em sneezing their heads off somewhere- good!) or the dogs eaten them along with the pepper she licked up!!

Hi Boo, how goes it!! If you have a gas fire turn off the pilot before you do any dusting with any powder! any powder can cause a dust explosion. You neen to go to your hardware store and by any ant powder that contains Benciocarb, get loads of it under and around your fire, you really need to work at this, a bit of haphazard sprinkling will not do the trick!!! and can be difficult to get rid of at the best of time, you need to get it in all the little nooks and crannies, you could also mix a bit of sugar with some of the powder in a bowl to tempt the little terrors, try and keep pets away but at the end of the day they would need to consume vast amounts of the stuff to harm them. I stress you need to be thourough to rid these little blighters and you may well get them back each year in the same place. Happy hunting :!!!!
