Hi, sorry about the broad spectrum Q. I want to go to Scotland for a few days and can fly into either Glasgow or Edinburgh [sp] and can go when I want and stay for as long as I want [pref....three nights]. Where is the best place for flights?

By the way you frame the question you appear to assume there is only one place where you can possibly be living/based, and that in turn almost certainly means you are in greater London (where else...is there anywhere else ...?! :) ). There is a very useful tool available on www,.moneysavingexpert.com which allows you to skim the internet for cheap flights between your stipulated points over periods of time and at a price below your chosen maximum. Do make certain you are aware of the add-ons that airlines tend to include in the very final bill total. But the site only covers certain budget airlines, nevertheless it saves you a lot of work if you want to do a thorough search.
regardless of where you actually fly into Glasgow and Edinburgh are only appx 50 miles apart. Both airports are just a short distance out of the city centres so easy to get to wherever you fancy going. If for example you choose to fly to edinburgh you can actually visit Glasgow too on a train that only takes 55 minutes. Being a Glaswegian I would of course encourage you to Glasgow but Edinburgh is more touristy.
