A good quality PVCu door should have steel or aluminium liner which can take screws ok. If not you will need to use fixings designed for sheet material or attach something to the wall. There are also concealed restrictors which fit on, or alongside, your multipoint locking strip but you would need to ask a locksmith or DG company.
Billy has got it right ...If you go to Wickes they do a chain which is made by ERA.
The chain comes with collapsible aluminium inserts...you need an 8mm clearance drill to fit...these are suitable for inferior quality doors without the metal insert.
The chain is fitted to the inserts using machine screws which are included.
If you find you have a good fixing ( into metal ) use the self tappers provided.
Use a 3.5mm clearance drill...anything less and you will snap the head off the screw.
These are my first choice for budget chains... I fit more than 200 a year.
