A "Schengen Visa" allows a Visa holder to travel to 15 EU member countries using one single visa.

You can apply for one through the Italian Consulate.

Their website states, in underlined print ...

"Under no circumstances will bookings from people living in North of England ... be accepted."

(or from Wales, Scotland or N. Ireland)
