That does make a diference, you ask do you need permission, probably not if he is not contributing to the roof over your head, but as the legal father he can be involved in direct decisions on the boy's education and upbringing, but if you keep him inormed of where you are and how your son is then you are doing all you need to do and can't be accused of being obstructive. I hope for your son's sake the idea of the absence will spur the man to get his elbow in gear and be a proper all be it weekend dad to the lad.
Thank you for your help.
redcrx- That was a very helpfull site.
Im going to pop into CAB on monday and get some more info on it.
He cant possiably be able to stop me from moving forward with my life.
As said above, i would keep in contact with him and inform him of anything to do with our son.
He is always trying to make my life hell.
Thanks again to you all! x

My daughter has been in the same situation, she moved 60miles, but she was also in fear of her life as he was not a very nice man, There had been a few injuction or things put in place. I believe my daughter has legal guardianship and has taken her daughter out of the country on holidays many times. Also this might be helpful....My daughter had to renew her daughter passport a couple of months ago.....She had to wait quite a whuile at the passport office as it had to go through the fraud squad. This was to make sure the HE the Dad could NOT obtain a passport in his daughter name.
I hope i have been of some help
