petrol in diesel van worked ?

heres a good one the other day i drove to devon from brigend(wales) in my ford connect tdi t200 van i started my journey with £15 diesel in the tank the ligth came on by tornton dean services on the m5 i put (£30 petrol) in the tank and then drove to okhampton and back to brigend not realising until the fuel ligth came on immedeiatly i put diesel in the tank now the van is running fine ive spoke to many mechanics and even been to the ford garage and spoke to there top boys and nobody belives me (because it is unbelivable) BUT ITS THE TRUTH i would be very greatfull if some body had a theory on this because my boss thinks ive stolen of him.
I done average speed of 80 to 90 mph there and back i filled up when the ligth came on so there may have been 2 to 3 liters of diesel in the tank before i added 24 liters of petrol yet i had no enging trouble at all

Are you sure?

I filled my diesel company car with diesel many times in the past and on the receipt it said X.XX litres - Petrol - just an error on the receipt.

Out of curiosity, how fast were you going to get an average speed of 80-90 mph ?

You sound like a regular speed hog,you must have been doing a ton at times to average that speed.Diesel mixed with petrol and no problems,I don't think so.

I dont know how you did it. when I got my first diesel Focus I put petrol in by mistake and I got about 100yds off the forecourt.It cost me if I remember rightly £100 to have the system drained, flushed and checked,not counting the cost of the contaminated fuel and a refill.
