the governments doulble edged sword for smokers
73 Answers
I am a non-smoker of a good few years now but that doesn't make me 'better' than the smoker it's all about choice and it annoys me when I see the exaggerated arm waving by the ex smokers specifically, I digress though...
all of this stopping smoking in public places like bus shelters and they will soon try for parks etc, they hammer the smoker and the drinker which is normally the working man, with tax after tax, but if they do get their way and people quit en masse, the Government will suffer in lost tax revenue big time!
I don't agree with anyone 'fagging' it in front of their kids, but that lot in Westminster are a pious bunch of hypocrites who are happy to take the taxes from the smokers

I met a German girl recently (smoking outside the pub) and she couldn't believe that we had a ban here. She said they had tried to introduce one in Germany but after 3 months it was withdrawn because no one paid any attention to it. As for eating and drinking, the German government wouldn't dare interfere with the population's freedom of choice. She really couldn't understand how being in government gives the right to treat adults like children.
