I have just bought some snowdrop bulbs which have flowered. Can I put them straight into the garden? I have no clue about gardening, but would like to learn! Thanks.
Yes. Plant them in your desired place as they have been set in the container. It may seem odd to mention but make sure they are watered in so that they will settle.Leave them to complete their cycle of food replenishment and then they will die back naturally to become another addition to your garden. A bright open position would be good so you may appreciate them better.
Snowdrop bulbs are best planted out "in the green", i.e. when they have just flowered and need splitting up so your bulbs should be fine. You will often find that the dry bulbs sold in the packet have a poor germination rate. This doesn't seem to be the case with other spring bulbs but snowdrops are always definitely recommended to be planted out after flowering with the leaves still green..
