Not for everyone jayne. I love the old movies and the way the ladies use to dress! What can I say, I love the look! All these sparkly / ethnic silver and gold wraps that are about look gorgeous with a lovely brooch. Definately more for a 'dressy' occasion x

I can think of another reason why someone might wear a brooch.

With Mothers' Day not long ago, there will be plenty of Mums proudly wearing the brooch that was given to her by her child. She'll tell the child how beautiful she thinks the brooch is (even if it's horrendous) but the reason she wears it has nothing to do with fashion. It's worn for the same reason that it was given, as a symbol of love.
