Why should adults suffer because some parents cannot or will not take precautions what their children watch.

What a stupid argument she is putting up. If parents let their children stay up past the watershed and watch unsuitable programmes, that is the parents fault.

If they let them have internet in their bedrooms without parental controls (they can view a lot worse than Wallander) then that is the fault of the parents.

To make everyone else jump through hoops to get a PIN what is to stop the child getting the PIN and using it. there is no PIN for the rest of the nasties and porn on the internet.

I don't actually have too much of an issue with PIN numbers - Sky do this on their movie channels when they show anything over a 12 during the day. I asked if this could be turned off as we don't have young kids, but it couldn't be.

Although a slight irritation, it isn't that bad - and I see no real harm in it.

No problem with entering a PIN to access post watershed progs before 9pm, Virgin already does this and it is nowt but a very small inconvenience.
I'm for anything that protects children from ignorant, uncaring, negligent parents morals.

If a small percentage of five-year olds have access to the internet, it does not follow that they have accessed post-watershed programmes. Wee ones have access to knives in the kitchen but it does not follow they are stabbing folk does it?

The problem is that parental responsibility has been eroded for the last 13 years. The Labour nanny state has bred this together with kids 'ooman rights' and no one allowed authority from Police to teachers and parents.

To sound like an old lady....(at 35!!) ... really the parents need to monitor what they watch and if they think the kids can't be trusted then no telly's in bedrooms etc...

Why should we rely banning post watershed shows on catch-up payers just to exonerate "some" (a minority) of parents doing their duties?
