abusive phone calls

My friend is having stupid phone calls. at first it was funny but then it got bit nasty, me and my friend have only known eachother few weeks and we dont no eachothers friends ect. but this person seems to know everything about the both of us. where we work are full names and where we live and also ect. it is really starting to worry my friend. i know we should change are numbers but we both have in the past only given it to people we trust.

have you spoken to the police about this? that would be my first point of call if calls were nasty.

When you say your 'friend', do you mean some you're romantically involved with?
Could this be an angry ex?
Agreed, Police or BT should be involved asap

Does the caller withhold their number ?
If so,you can contact your phone co.who can put a block on unwanted calls,eg
withheld numbers,unsolicited sales calls etc.
I would also take redcrx,s advice and contact the police,if the calls are abusive.

could this be a game by your friend - and the worrying a double bluff??

you say yourself you have only known them a few weeks

some people do this sort as a way to gain trust and dependancy from others...and also to 'comfort' or even be a hero

Buy a whistle, if one of your mates go deaf then you'll know who it is.

Seriously ring BT and if poss get a recording of the call for the police.
