You could talk about the separation of church and state (ie no religious instruction is allowed in schools); also, the fact that despite being a predominantly Catholic country, fewer and fewer people are practising Christians (maybe research the drop in figures and the reasons why); also, perhaps, the integration of other religions - the south has a large sector of North African immigrants - so you could research the multi-cultural aspect of the country and how well the non-Christian population are integrated.

Surely the idea is that you are meant to go away and discover these issues for yourself and research them, rather than simply finding out about the subjects people have given you? That way you'll develop the necessary research skills yourself, which is more important than the actual subject.

Everybody has to do something they don't want to do at some points in their life, you could start by trying to take an interest in the subject.

You could also compare and contrast the Christian-Muslim relationship in France and the UK.
