Any tips for watering growbags?

I've come across 'growtubes' where an empty plastic bottle is attached to a 'growtube' and acts as a reservoir keeping the growbag moist but not flooded, but I can't find any reviews to see how effective they are. Do any ABers use them?

Yes, I use them to supply water and feed to tomatoes and find them adequate but be sure to keep them topped up in hot weather.

Actually redman41, urine is very beneficial to tomatoes in growbags, but best diluted 7-1.

Regards to the empty plastic bottle, I cut a plastic bottle in half and drill a tiny hole in the lid and when I dig the hole I put a small piece of bath sponge in the bottom of the hole to disperse the water and place the upturned bottle on it.

I hate growbags personally, prefer to grow my tomatoes etc in buckets, much more compost, and depth to hold the plant in the latter stages of growth while fruiting, and much easier to keep moist!..................

To even further my advise on `Tom`s`, I remember the late Geoff Hamilton (I think it was) saying that if you put a plant into a bottomless fibre pot and then plant it into a growbag you get the extra depth and much more root growth, therefore more `Tom`s` to the plant.
