I was wondering what would happen to my bank loan and credit cards if I were to move abroad (outside the EU).  Would I still be liable to repay the debt or could I just disappear and leave them behind?  I fully intend to pay...I'm just curious as to whether or not the bank would chase me halfway across the world.  Or would they write off my debt?  Anyone got any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi go here http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/debt_forum/

Its got loads of great advice and there is even a thread on global debt questions.

Debt tracing agencies exist just about everywhere nowadays, they'll find you, add anywhere from 400 upwards to each debt, then nail you to the wall!!!!!!! If your moving to somewhere like the US or Australia your credit is important in the first few years, no visa, no stay, then they throw you out!!!

There is nothing to stop you making an arrangement with these guys for minimal payments before you go, they can't stop you leaving the country.

Good luck
