parking.
why is it that whenever I park in a car park, I always park well away from other cars so as not to get my doors scratched and I can always guarantee when I come back to my car there will be someone parked right next to me even though there are a lot of empty spaces not next to anyone. I wonder if its the colour which attracts them. I have a bright red car. Anyone else have this problem (well its not a problem really just a bit annoying sometimes.

I am different to jocasta. I am a female driver too and I keep my distance from all vehicles either on the road or in car parks (unlike my hubby). I try to park as far away from vehicles on both sides of me as possible in a car park, to save my car being dinged by the car doors of the vehicle next to me, for which you have no recompense in most cases. As well as being annoying, it is a problem too, because you either have to live with the dings or pay for it to be made good again. My car is black and silver.
I experience this regularly, and it really irritates me. You can park right away from other cars, and yet when you return there's one right next to you - usually badly parked - even when there's plenty of other spaces. Don't these drivers want space around their cars too? These are the same people who come and sit really close to you in an empty cinema!
