Windows full
I have inherited alovely 12" laptop of about 5 years old. It has a small (60Gb) hard drive split as C: 35 Gb D: 25 Gb. There are vitually no programmes other than anti virus, anti spyware and Microsoft Office. Operating with Winows XP Professional. Any data such as photos are on the D drive. Howeve nearly all the C drive is full and it appears to be all Windows taking up the space. Each time I have deleted items in C the space has been taken up by XP upgrades. Why is this and what can I do about it?

There has to be a lot of other stuff stored in the folders. Suggest you open Windows Explorer (Start/All programs/Accessories) and systematically check all folders.
If you want to delete the D partition it may be a good idea to backup the data on an external drive for safety.

Hi questman. Ran across a small free program that may suit you. It will quickly show you how much is stored in each folder without having to click on each one.
