I would have loved to have been a young woman in that era, obviously not during the war, that must have been terrifying! but when the war ended the dances and the patriotism ect, I think I would have made a good Land Army girl meself..lol

Dear Bobbi,
It's nice to look back at that period through rose tinted glasses(that's youner Aber's)but for those of us who lived through it we would rather forget.
The war didn't end in 1945,we had rationing for years after,and the ladies still found it difficult(very) to get all those essentail "girly" things!
There WAS patriotism,but there was also the Black Market,where the poor (me and family) had to do without a lot of things,and the rich could buy what they wanted and live almost normally.
Don't get me started, I can bore for the UK on this.LOL
