thanks pat, went there, dowloaded, installed, it found 15 trojans and associated stuff and crashed the whole machine! My technical man came this morning, used his know-how to do the necessary and I'm now fully functional again.

He's slapped me about and told me not to be such a muppet in the future and I'm confident(ish) that it will be much simpler from now on. ie. he's told me exactly, in idiot terms, what to do. Thanks for the link :-D
