How did Jesus Christ die on the cross?or did he?
He had nails through both hands and through his ankles, painful, yes, but not enough to kill him.
Could it be that he "didn't " die on the cross, was taken down by his followers, taken back to the cave (sepulchre) where he was seen, as a resurrection by Mary Magdalene?
Any contributions welcomed.

Actual accounts of Roman crucifictions are that the victim was tied to the cross at the arms and upper chest. Metal nails were expensive, unnecessary and so one of the particularly 'dodgy' bits of the christ story.
They usually had a small ledge or wooden peg for the feet and without taking their body weight on their feet they would find breathing extremely arduous and painful.
Their strength would eventually give out and they would asphyxiate in great pain. If the executioners wanted to speed up the process they could break their legs.
