aching joints

I have recently started to suffer from painful joints, particuarly at night, my wrists, elbows and shoulders being the worst. Could this be because I spend all day typing, my arms raised? And is there anything I can do? I intend to try cod liver oil but don't have much faith in it- doesn't seem hardcore enough.

Cheers

It most definitely could be as a result of your typing position.  You should get some help regarding your seating position and angle of your arms whilst using the keyboard.  Your company has a responsibility by law to make sure this happens.

Your arms should not be raised, but level with the keyboard and you should have something to rest your wrists on.  I presume you are using a computer and not a typewriter.  You should also not have to stretch your arm out to use the mouse.  Your upper back should be supported.  I am not an expert so please see someone who is.

Please don't delay, this happened to me whilst working in a call centre and affected my upper back to a degree where I had to have loads of time off work.

Good luck.

I had very painful knees some time ago and started taking cod liver oil capsules.   I do not have any trouble now - I am convinced they do work
Listen to FP, Find out who in your company is responsible for health and safety and get it sorted. My friend ended up needing carpal tunnel ops on both wrists because of this. I use codliver oil with glucosamine in it which seems to help but my joint aches are caused by the menopause.

Entirely agree about the health and safety thing but I'd also highly recommend rape seed oil capsules!

Also ibuprofen is a great analgesic, not every night but does reduce swelling.
