If the puplication of Advanced potion making was 50 years ago, then How can Snape Be the Half Blood Prince?

i think it hints in the book it may have been snapes mothers book her  name being prince

Non-muggles seem to have longer lifespans and no-one knows how old Snape is.  it is not mentioned in the book.

Just to answer carolegif, Snape is about 35, he went to school with Harry's parents. And yes it is his mother's book

It doesn't matter when the book was published, Snape bought it when he was at school, he then made notes in his copy of the book.

i agree with abadabz. the book could have been quite old when snape recieved it.
