Not sure about this but...although the 1998 World Cup was held in France, there was a song used regularly on radio using the words Uno Dos Tres...which is Spanish (?) and sounded a bit like the now Living La Veda Loca by Ricky Martin...but it couldn't have been that, could it?...so what was it? Ricky Martin had a song called Un Dos Tres Maria - could that be the one youre thinking of??

Not sure about the one you mention jb, but I have found this: La copa de la vida (la cancion oficial de la copa mundial, Francia '98) and though I can't translate the Spanish, there does seem a similarity to France and the year 98, so I guess that this was the song I kept hearing during the lead up to the World Cup in France 98 - and on hearing a recent radio play of the song Living la vida loca by Ricky Martin...it reminded me of the footy song - anyway, I've got the CD on order, so Thanks again jb for making me search a little deeper.
