Modern tap ......

I would like one of those taps that pull out to enable you to rinse the sink, then the tap shrinks back into its casing (not very well described but I hope you know what I mean).

My hubby says the water pressure has to be a certain level for them to work, but my builder says he doesn't think this is an issue. Also, if the water pressure IS an issue - how do we find out what our water pressure is?

Any advice/info regarding this would be gratefully received. TIA.

I have a tap something like this. There are two 'press points' - one for a spray and the other for ordinary straight running water. The on/off control adjusts between hot and cold. It cost around £80 plus fitting. The question of water pressure didn't arise.

A kitchen sink should have a rising mains cold outlet. You will NOT hold your finger over that ... approx 65 psi!

The outlet spout is after the valve, so it does not matter particularly about pressure. You need mixer with telescopic hose. They are a bit dear tho.

You could check Wickes and B&Q for cheaper ones. I think they carry them.
