I don't think either of these states can last indefinitely. We need 'opposites' to appreciate what he have or have had. Day and night, ebb and flow, heat and cold, dry and wet are all opposites but there is a point of balance which hopefully we all experience. Beyond that we are looking for preferences but perhaps we should just be content with what we have. After all there is always some poor soul worse off than ourselves.
