Laws regarding dismantling vehicles

Hi there
A friend and I have recently been looking into a business opportunity that consists of buying old cars, breaking them for parts, selling the parts online and then scraping the shell. The shell is sold on to a scap metal merchant who then takes responsibility for weighing it in. Is there any governing body, association or register that we need to apply to before we start trading?
