Police Speed Trap

Wife caught in a speed trap - 36 mph in a 30 mph zone. Photo from police shows rear of car only and barely readable rear number plate. Suppose we will pay the fine but just feel like being awkward given the fact that the "boy racers" were passing my wife, doing 70+ mph @ the same time and with obvious immunity from any police attention.

Has anyone any ideas re: questions, comments I can make to cause optimum embarrassment/ annoyance in questions I can put to the Assistant Chief Constable?

My Mate got done doing 31mph in a 30mph zone. No lee-way nowadays.

He wasn't in Prudhoe was he?!
Appreciate there's not much leeway but I just wanna be awkward to the buggers! I would certainly have argued your Mate's case in Court, 'though - 1 mph is ridiculous!
how do you know people were doing 70+ were you one of them??

There is a "certain skill" to estimating speed - using speedo + clock/watch, and which is admissible in Court under "creation of reasonable doubt" guidelines.

(It aint who you know, it's what your job is!!).
Unless you have some very good influential friends, i would suggest that you not play silly devils with the police, they have ways of making you regret it. (no i am not in blue, neither is any of my family)

It does happen now Doc. I use to work where they held the 'speed awareness' course.
dragongiraffe: Sorry Im confused. Are you implying the boy racers were overtaking your wife going through the same speed trap?
so are you saying your wife has this "certain skill" plus carries a stopwatch in her car so she can estimate other peoples speed?? Shame she couldn't do the same with hers!
Seriously i am just as confused -are you saying that someone overtook her at 70 through the same speed trap and instead of going after those people, they decided that doing 36 was far worse, because thats what you seem to be implying!
I completely agree - what is the point in being as "awkward as possible" - you will still have to pay the fine, get the points and really the only people you will cause the optimum embarrassment to is yourself and your wife
Is "other people were breaking the law too" a valid excuse for breaking the law?
Were you stopped at the trap location or did you get notified by post? If the latter, how can you be sure that the boy racers didn't also get caught?
I don't see any point in trying to embarrass/annoy the chief constable- the only loser will be you I suspect
