Please help, I'm stuck on last unclued entry at 28ac. I have NAY? and the only word that fits is NAYS but this makes no sense too me! Any advice as to where I've gone wrong gratefully received so thanks in advance.

NAYS would be the votes defeating a proposition in Parliament - "the ayes have it...the nays have it". Naysay is to refuse, ignore one of the ay's (a variant on aye) Don't like the clue much!
amtaff it was actually a clued light.

So it was! I had incorrectly crossed it off as being done. Belated thanks to both.
Bit late, I know, sorry. You've probably all long moved on. But I'm still puzzling in what way the unclued lights are connected. I seem to have solved them all, although I'm unsure about 36, but I cannot get the connection. Any gentle hints from you experienced solvers?
