I want to dispense with my vinyls but lots of the music isn't on YouTube or Itunes. CDs are more storage and would rather have them on the net.

Do I need a licence or permissions from artistes or recording studios? Would it make any difference if it were private or public usage.

If you put material on the net, you run the risk of prosecution under copyright law.

If they are simply for your own use, why not buy some conversion software and an external hard drive - job done.
tamborine you can by converters to copy your stuff to digital.

How much vinyl do you have and how are you going to "dispose" of it?

500 + LP vinyls; lots of jazz & big bands inherited plus from 50s pop/classics/hawaiian/calypso/ethnic (most countries) etc. Hard drives are storage as are MP3 etc. I can digitalise all but really dont have the time.

Is there a business who will buy (cheap) & upload so I can reach the music on the net ? I dont want to sell individually.
