I'm going on holiday in august and I dont think the hotel room has a fridge. I always take a small kettle and teabags when I go away. I've been trying to find some powdered milk that tastes ok in tea. All I can find is coffee mate. This tastes fine in coffee but is too creamy for tea. Can anyone suggest another brand and tell me where I can find it. I looked in Tesco and Sainsburys with no luck.

Marvel?

You're probably not looking in the right place. Many supermarkets put Coffee Mate (unsurprisingly) near to the coffee. However the Marvel (which just about every supermarket sells) is usually tucked away (together with their 'own brand' powdered milk) next to the UHT long-life milk, several aisles away from the tea and coffee.

Do you have a card for Costco (or know someone who does) as they sell boxes of the little pots of long life milk like you get when you are out and about, this doesn't need refrigeration and is small and light for travelling (also looks a bit less suspicious than some white powder in a bag!) If Costco is not an option, Google Millac Maid and see where else sells it, I know you can buy it from Amazon, but the postage is quite hefty.
Sainsburys do their own version of Marvel. Skimmed powdered milk. Not brilliant but much better than Coffeemate which is actually made from vegetable oil. I wouldn`t want to put vegetable oil in my tea
I love the taste of "Nido powdered milk" It tastes great and is available in tesco, asda and sainsbury, buy a little tub to gauge the taste and if you like it buy the big one for your hols!

Thanks. Im going to have to check these out. I've been looking but can't find any of them. I must be looking in the wrong place. I'll ask someone who works there.
Aldi do an excellent powdered milk which is kept near the tea and coffee on the left when you go through the door in most Aldi stores.
the trick with marvel - and probably most powdered milks - is to wait a wee while before adding...dont put it in before the water, or immediately after adding the water

i put mine in just before i am ready to take the first sip

that way you dont get that curious taste caused by the boiling water

you could also try mixing up a pint or half of milk and use that way
