has anybody ever used a hay band?

i found a website the other day suggesting a marvellous cure/ relief for hay fever sufferers. a hay band. apparently you wear this elasticated peice of material around your elbow and its supposed to give instant releif.

I did use a band for nausea when I was pregnant - around the wrist - didnt really work !

An elastic band around the elbow for hay fever.....yes".........yes" .....it works..........but it makes your arm go gangrenous after a time.

I use one for sailing and seasickness.
It makes me feel better - it could all be in the mind, but who cares? It has a nobble on, which you have to place in the right position, and you can keep pressing the nobble as & when. I tend to forget it's there though, especially when you're at a 90 degree angle and about to fall in the ocean

I think these bands and such things are gimmick and just trick ones mind into thinking they are healed from whatever ails them.

To prevent hay fever take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey every morning all year round, not just pollen season. I know a few people who have tried this and as long as they do take it regularly, each day, it works. It must be produced locally to you and not processed or heat treated.

Hate to sound cynical, but an elastic band around the elbow to cure hay fever sounds an unlikely cure to me. Full marks for asking for experience tales here first.

thanx mandy 101, and for the other ab´s opinions. i thought the same originally, an elasticated peice of band, how could this stop my hay-fever suffering?? so i found an address on the internet. and after 2 months it hasnt come, lots of excuses, eg we´ve sent you 4 so far. so naturally i thought a scam!! until mandy 101 saved the day. so i´ll be trying asda very soon. long story though, i always wanted to live in the country, but didnt realise my haý-fever problem from 30 years ago would haunt me!!

My son has just got a hayband (Qu-Chi) - he suffers really badly, swollen whites of eyes, blocked nose, sneezing, headaches. He has been wearing the last two days, after a really bad start to this week with Hayfever. It seems to be working, and in fact when he removes it, his symptons seem to return almost immediately. I was a bit sceptical but when you have tried everything else, why not? Got it off the internet for £11.00 including postage and packing. Hope it continues to work as if it does it will transform his life in the next few months.
