i think any driver that has passed tests to use both modes of transportation should be (imho) a better road user, provided they have a few years riding/driving under their belts.

To turn the ? around: the worst drivers ever have to be little old men in caps and little old ladies who can't see over the steering wheel! IE those people who learnt to drive later in life!

Little old ladies didn't necessarily learn to drive later in life, lots of LOLs have been driving since they were young, as have the little old men.

my dad sat behind a motorcyclist today at a t junction. The biker waited patiently for a police car to pull into the junction, looked over his shoulder to check behind him and promptly fell over with his bike. My dad had to help him get the bike up again

Has to be the little 17 year old car driver who cant see over the steering wheel in fact if he didnt gob out the window at the lights you wouldn,t know it had a driver.

The best type of driver is one with experience,that has been willing to learn from their mistakes and are generally awake when driving,polite and aware of whats going on around them.
Not someone who bullcharges everywhere,are right all the time BECAUSE they have been driving/riding x ammount of years.
With habit comes complacency.

CarDrivers use the road better as they have more uses for it, carrying more people, carring passengers etc etc.

Bikes have their limits, but they are cool

Car drivers are the best as i have just seen a young lady change gear, turn the steering wheel to go around the corner , while smoking a fag and chatting on her mobile.
She did clip the curb, but hey no one is perfect.
Show me one bike rider who could do all that at a staggered junction .

Bikers have more chance of killing themselves if they get stupid or careless, so they're less inclined to be so.

Car drivers, however (me included), sit in our little metal boxes on wheels believing ourselves to be invincible. We are masters - or mistresses - of our own few cubic feet of space, which we guard with a passion and from where we dictate our terms of engagement. We growl and snap like possessive dogs at any other road user who dares to come close and drive at insane speeds in order to distance ourselves from our perceived attackers

Safest = Car Drivers

I'm a biker and I will argue until the cows come home that bike riders are more alert, adept, have better reactions and, as a general rule of thumb, keep their machines in better working order than their car-driving counterparts.
However, being a biker I also know that the temptation to exceed speed limits and 'let your hair down' a bit is far greater when on a bike then in a car.
Technically I would say that bikers are by far and away the better motorists... but not, in the Highway Code's eyes, the 'safest'.

Well would be most drivers but only very small amount as so many idiots and oap's not able to even drive so dunno who gives them 1.8 vw 59 plate cars a 1.2 would be more than ok
