to be honest i dont know the tru answer, but i have just fitted a pipercross air filter to my 1.1 and i have noticed a change, its only tiny but i can tell the difference. the main change though is in the sound of the engine it makes it sound great. but like i say im not sure how much impact it would have on your engine. im sure it would make a difference as your engine would be getting a better feed but how different this would make the drive is beyond me. sorry!
makes the guy selling the kit that little bit richer, you would find yourself turning up the stereo to drown out the induction roar. i'm told it can be quite pleasing but personally i prefer a couple of extra cylinders mor ethan makes up for the lack of a k&n ...
The effect will be minute, no way a simple air filter is going to transform your cooking 1.8 into any kind of road rocket, realistically, it just wont! It might liberate 1 to 2 extra BHP at best. As has been stated, it will sound as if its making a lot more power, and maybe that will be good enough, but for what it costs, I think you will be disapointed.
well first off i have one on my 1.8 escort gti and its made a massive diffrence. throttle response is on the up, low end pull is better. bhp wise on its own its not going to transform into a race car but it will make a noticble diffrence. but you really need the tourqe to go up and the filter helps to do that. with other engine it will realse alot more power.
