"If you have had any criminal convictions in any country, you may wish to consider applying for a Tourist visa (subclass 676), rather than an eVisitor. If arriving on an eVisitor with criminal convictions, you could be refused entry into Australia".

I doubt this will stop you from entering a country. I know the ins and out of the American system far better than the Australian.
If it was a conviction associated with violence or drugs then the authorities would be much more concerned.
I am surprised you were even charged with this offence. People normally get penalty notices for disorder for this.
