Viburnum

A friend had a Viburnum which had white flowers and smelt of Lavendar, sadly it died and he has tried in vain to replace it. Has anyone any ideas which variety and name it could be as I would love to replace it for him. Many thanks, dartsbird.

most of the viburnums smell nice. Don't know of any that smell of lavender though. Was it evergreen or deciduous? might help narrow the list of possible suspects
