Macbeth's no great deal - heartless play  -  H?e?

and

Shandy Butt possibly set to one side, pierced by estate   ?e?t?e   (Testae?)

The clues should be straightforwardish usually they are) but the words might be obtuse.

Macbeth..........Thane
Question Author

Thane does not fit  - the shape is     h?e?

Thanks for trying

Haven't solved it (the Macbeth one) but I suspect you need a Scottish word for 'no great deal', then remove the centre letter and you'll be left with a word meaning 'play'.

Are the letters definitely correct?
I think it's HAET which is a scots word meaning a minute amount or a jot (no great deal) it is also Hamlet without the middle (a heartless play also by Shakespear).

Sorry ......... I meant HAET
