my wife is thinking of applying for a very good job in Croydon. Please can someone advise of a really nice area to live in around Croydon or other nice areas.

She would be willing to commute.

Epsom, if you can afford it. My home town but I can't afford to move back there.

Also quite nice in Clapham or Balham but both are expensive.

I cant believe someone advised you to move to Thornton Heath. I live in Croydon and Thornton Heath is notoriously bad for knife crime. Nobody in their right mind should move there!
