I agree with that craft, house prices make 2 incomes essential, but if ummm can afford to take time off then why not.

He got this house nearly 16 years ago so the mortgage is very small. I think he paid 40k...

That's the problem nowadays ummmm..........our first house was a 3 bedroomed detached which cost the huge sum of £4525.00, but my husband earned 10k a year so the mortgage was nothing to him.

I know. My house, a 5 bedroomed, 3 story cost me £145,000. I sold it for £230,000 in the slump.

I loved that house :-(
