I threw my handbag into the bin because the strap had snapped ....
the bin men came today ....
i went to get my bankcard tonight from my new bag ...
NOT IN THERE !
ID LEFT IT IN MY OLD BAG WITH MY CASH AS WELL
i cancelled my card immediately

I don't expect it's any consolation, but you're not alone. I wrapped a pair of very expensive earrings in a couple of tissues and put them in my bag ready to take to the jewellers for repair. The next day I decided to tidy my bag - and threw what I thought was a couple of old tissues on the fire. Ouch!

No - at the time I didn't think to Craft - but I should have. And Looby - I realised the moment I'd done it and I did feel sick - but of course with a roaring fire, it was already too late. I won't be wrapping jewellery in tissues again.

A few years ago my husband lost £500 cash in an envelope , I was at Bingo & he sent my daughter to ask me for it thinking I'd picked it up as it was nowhere to be found.
When I got home we had the house upside down looking for it NOTHING >>> It was near midnight he was going mental (it was all my fault according to him) No one was going to bed untill this money was found.
The bin bags were out for collection in the morning we tipped 'em out all over the kitchen floor, scrabbled about looking at every bit, THEN low and behold there was that envelope in tact. Evidently he'd gathered it up with some junk mail and threw it out. A very close shave there the bin men would have collected at 8am PHEW!! He swears he didn't remember doing it.
