Lucky? There is a quote, which I attribute to Gary Player but I have heard attributed to other golfers.
Player is in a bunker, gets out a 7 iron chips in, a spectator says "hey Gary that was lucky" to which Player replies "Yep, I find the more I practise the luckier I get"
Bellamy gives away a simple ball, City get punished by switching off. Somethings in football are indisputably lucky Utd's goal isn't one of them.
They don't deserve to win it they didn't even qualify for the Europa league (mind you neither did Athletico) They should stop this nonsense of Champions league failiures going straight into the knock out stages of the Europa (previously UEAFA cup). Fulham on the other hand DID qualify and fought their way through the group stages and have a great chance of winning. How tragic if they were robbed of it by a team who failed in Europe but was given an unfair lifeline to european glory.
It's the rules of the competition that everybody is aware of at the start of the campaign, so if people are unhappy about it they have the right to not enter. No doubt everything will change again in the next few years.
Your argument doesn't hold water "just because its the rules, Don't make it right"?
so whats the premise.
Chelsea dominated against Spurs but Spurs get a penalty and score thats the rules but under your interpretation its not right?
Man U get a last minute goal against City but City played well the goal stands because its the rules.
Everyone knows the rules and that the losers from the Champions league go into the Europa, Fulham knew it and i haven't heard the mighty Roy Hodgeson complaining about it.
