Just been in my local for a couple of hours. A girl who used to work there called in (briefly) to show the regulars her new baby.
He was born in Feb. at 26 weeks he's just come out of hospital at 10 weeks old and weighing less than 5 pounds, he is the tiniest baby I've ever seen!!
Sorry, not a question but I'm overwhelmed at the little miracle I've seen tonight.
My Grandad was 16lb 10oz.....(people don't believe me when I say that) It's true though and he still, at the age of 86, has the certificate to prove it,
Second biggest baby born in Ireland.....SECOND!!!!
My yougest was born at 35 weeks and I thought she was tiny till I went down to SCBU to see her. She was huge compared to all the other little tiny fighters.
Good luck to your Grandad, I have tears in my eyes thinking what his mum went through all those years ago!!
Your OH must have been a little fighter as well, bet he still makes himself heard.
My neice was born at 28 weeks but at the size she would have been at 23-24 weeks, so weighed 1lb 6oz. It's amazing seeing babies that tiny - doesn't seem possible that they can survive. Definitely overwhelming,as you say!
