forgive and forget...

How easy do you find this?
I find it quite easy to forgive - life's too short to bear grudges, no-one is infallible or perfect, and so long as the deed or crime inflicted is not absolutely horrendous, forgiveness comes quite easily to me.

However - forget? No. I don't mean in a bearing-a-grudge sort of way, but remembering is learning and experience. I'm like a bleedin' great elephant when it comes to that.

So I've heard... (or read...!)

I don't remember going through the agony of childbirth to produce such a wonderful offspring, but maybe it was so traumatic, my memory has blocked it out?!! And how does the age thing work? Maybe this was all in a parallel universe?

It's difficult to forget some things especially if they were hurtful.
You know the old saying "once bitten twice shy".
