Another question about grouting tiles

the grouting between my bathroom tiles is looking dirty - are those grouting pencils any good ?

Yes, they are but can be quite tiring after a while. Best thing is buy two and get someone to help you or make it a family get together if the bathroom's big!!

best thing is grout whitening stuff in a little dumpy bottle from Wilkinsons. You simply paint it over the grout. It does go over the tiles a bit too but when its completely dry just wipe over with a wet cloth & the excess on the tiles comes off. Can't remember the make but look where they have the paint etc. Its damn good stuff. One tip though...don't use the brush thats in the bottle, its useless. just use a small paintbrush

As a kindof side question - hope you do't mind smurfchops :)

I have a small area - about 2 or 3 inches long - where the bathroom tile grout is crumbling away.
Looked at B&Q and all they seem to do is massive bags or tubs of the stuff. Does anyone know if small tubes, say toothpaste tube or a bit bigger are available??

Yes Puternut, I have seen tubes of grout in they DIY shops, they should be easily available, they're the ones you use with a gun, if you know what I mean! as for those pencils, I tried to whiten my grout with one!...........So tedious!............we have so many tiles!.............sadly just gave up!..................
