phantom switch debit
2 Answers
the present mrs v64paul has an issue with debits being made from her bank account apparently via her switch card. this is despite having changed the card recently because a similar problem was detected. the statement reads internet services with no other identification. it's a fixed amount around the same time every month, as if it was a subscription. she is ultra careful with her card, and has never used it other than at the hole in the wall or very occaisonally in a shop and even then only at well established places. by this i mean no dodgy corner shops. the y*******e bank are alledgedly investigating. has anyone else had this or similar problems?

The bank can contact the company to get a refund but that in itself won't stop any contract that the company think that they have with you. For this reason, it's important to get (from the bank or online) a contact number for the company so that you can cancel any existing agreement *with them*.
If it's an honest mistake then this will put an end to it. If you somehow conclude that the company are dodgy then you may have to report it to the cops and get a completely new bank account opened and close the existing one.
Either way you will get all of this money back : normally the bank will reimburse you, then investigate so that they're temporarily out of pocket. They can afford it more than you.
