if the weather is bad and sometimes for other reasons, i get the bus home from school.

If i manage to catch the 3.35 bus, it is almost empty, but if i can't make it, and have to get the 3.50 bus, it is full of pensioners and i end up having to stand. There must be something happening in town, that finishes at about 3.30 because it happens every time,

what do you think the reason is?

Its the same bus doing the same route, just one that's 15 minutes later.

But its not though, the roads are just as busy when i get the later bus, as they are when i manage to catch the first one. Plus there are only me and two other school children that i see on the bus, and i don't know if they are like me, only getting the bus occaisionally, for bad weather etc.

The buses are public and they probably get on in the town centre, where there are no schools.
well I dont live near you so dont know what goes on in your town sorry

welll in the town near me, there are quite a few things happening, but it msut be that bingo or a social club for old people (do they exist?) finishes at about 3.30
You do think about such trivial things.
you are probably right
It''s probably some sort of club as you say, yes luncheon clubs do still exist and often are run by organisations like Age Concern. Also, a lot of older people go out in the middle of the day to do their shopping, then like to be back by 4.30ish for a cup of tea before they get their evening meal. Don't forget too that people of pension age get concessionary travel on buses, I know people who go out and spend all day riding round just for something to do some days.
For once im in agreement with molly!

At work ,you can guarantee that the twirly's will arrive at 3.15 to buy their madeira cake, digestives and small carton of sterilised milk etc , just as the schools are chucking out the kids. Then they've the gall to moan as there's a queue at the till. It's often very tempting to ask why they don't come in at another time during the day, seeing as they've got nowt to do all day and all day to do it in, and lets face it, they've probably been up since 6am anyway.
Hi Boo. They're always in the Post Office at lunchtimes too aren't they when working people are in a hurry to get their stamps or whatever and they've got all day to collect their pensions.
Lardy and B00, I was going add just the same about people in queues during OUR lunch breaks but I though I was being churlish. Hey I'm not, you feel the same!
Zakly Lardy.

Dunno why we just can't shove em all in homes, and allow them "out time" lets say, from 10am- 11.30, then again from 2pm-3pm? Seems reasonable to me. If they're especially well behaved and can refrain from being crusty, and reminding us how old they are, (eg- "of course im pushing in this queue, im 83 dontcha know, i fought a war for you"), we might grant them a sepecial lisence to have an extra hour from say 5pm-6pm? Unless it is of course summer and sunny- then we'll require the streets back again.

Headwreak, rofl- get a grip will you? The majority of my posts were tongue in cheek. I assumed it was pretty obvious to most people, obviously not!
i thought you were serious Boo, i was gong to vote for you :-p
I vote Boo for the next president of Age Concern
Fluffy, how come your not drunk?
I think bobjugs is implying you're a lush McFluffy.

Headwreck, i didn't know you could only use bus passes at certain times. Perhaps they can't use them for a certain time up to 3.30, so then that bus is the first one they can get one.

But honestly every time i get on the 3.35 bus, it's never been more than half full, and if i miss it and have to get the next one its always full and i have to stand.
