Yet one more savage attack on the streets of Brown's "Broken Britain".
Crimes that are becoming all too common, that it now seems are only serious enough to be reported by the Daily Mail.
Is the reason that the Daily Mail is so hated by some, because they report on matters that others would rather not have become know to their opponents?

However, there IS hope. Looking at the reply to the story by one reader makes me think that perhaps not ALL of the Wail's readership are Brit-hating Little Englanders, permanently scanning the net for further evidence to back up their bigoted view of anyone who is different from them:
"I have lived outside of the UK for the last 6 years and now I am coming back for good.
I believe that if all we do is moan about the "state of Britain" then it will never get better. Where is the motivation to get it back on track? It is the people of Britain who need to stop moaning and get on with supporting and building Britain back up. It will take years, maybe a whole generation or even more, but I am coming back to promote and enjoy a wonderful country that still has potential.
Stop moaning and think positive."

"Use your own judgement"...a wonderful idea, Steve, but sadly beyond the majority of the band of right-wingers here on AnswerBank. The current thread-starter is a perfect example. Virtually his every contribution here contains a link to a gutter-press item...ie it is someone ELSE'S idea, not his own. Sadly, therefore, I fear you are flogging a dead horse. Nice try, though.

The problem we face concerning crime is how the statistics are compiled. I have reported 3 crimes which I was told would be termed as No-Crimes as far as statistics are concerned. One involved a shotgun, one a car theft and one a glass panelled door being smashed in. In the third case the person who did it went on to commit suicide.
The first two no one could be held responsible and the police prefer to treat them as non crimes because it looks better for their conviction figures. I should add I was told this by the officers involved. So when politicians quote figures I don't believe them.
All I know I am aware of more crime being commited in my area than in years past.

/// a more balanced newspaper, or even better, use your own judgement, rather than be judgmental with the aid of the aforesaid publication? ///
I don't make the news I can only build my questions around news items that some papers choose to report.
Just because some publications choose not to report them, and other ABers would rather not know about them, will not prevent me from being concerned at what is happening on our streets.
If some choose to ignore these savage crimes for reasons of their own, it is a sad reflection on their own lack of concern and sheer apathy.
