I am aware that AB does not approve of advertising. Consequently, it could be that my 'chips are down' on this one.( AB Editorial may remove my question.)
Marks and spencers crinkle cut oven chips are good - when I'm feeling flush!
Otherwise i chip my spuds, very chunky, par boil, let dry and go very cold, then sprinkle on some olive oil or a spritz thingy and bung in a hot oven for 30 mins or so.
Not quite heston blumin'eck, but very nice, and not bad for yer!
Rosetta....I am really on your side in this matter. It is a bit of a palaver with pans and oil. Hence the reason for my wishing to establish the best of oven chips; but , correct me if I'm wrong, the Rustic Chips are cut from potatoes with their skins still on: which is not what I want; but will buy some to try. Who knows, I might be in for an enjoyable surprise.
I was talking to my mum the other day and a 'chip pan' was mentioned.
My 9 year old said, "A chip pan? What's a chip pan? A pan, just to cook a chip??!"
