Can someone please tell me the hourly rate a 16 year old school leaver should be getting (soon to be 17)

kezia the DTI site here says it should be �3 per hour.

�3 is the minimum wage but dont accept that.... a decent job should get you at least �4.50 an hour even if its only glass collecting in a pub
my daughter is 16 and works 40 hours is a hairdressers and she gets paid �60 for the week. this is outrageous BUT......................
16 and 17 year old apprentices are exempt from the young workers rate.
as my daughter is classed as an apprentice she is exempt from the �3 minimum wage, this is cheap labour and companys know exactly what they are doing.
