ereaders-any preference?
9 Answers
What would answerbankers recomend as an ereader? So far have looked at Kindle, Sony, Iriver and Elonex but can't decide as each company says its is the best. Price of reader not really an issue but ease of use, cost and variety of available books is. I would rather download straight to reader than through my laptop (windows xp) if there's a choice. I think i have a favourite but want to be sure. Your thoughts please.

Sony only allows downloads through a USB port... Kindle is the only device with Text to Speech built in... We've just bought the Kindle 2... so far so good.

I love libraries and books (i also prefer vinyl and video, bit Retro I know for one so, ahem, young!) and have worked in libraries for many years and am always telling people to use them or lose them although they too seem to be going the way of self-service and internet use Also people complain about charges and fines and can buy books, DVDs , music etc at supermarkets for less than a bottle of booze -throwaway society. I collect old sci-fi books but am also a bit of a technophile and a ereader looks fun for reading newer books without having to keep them.

You should probably wait until the end of the month and visit an Apple Store and get your hands on an iPad
