I have a 2001 Ford Mondeo which has a low fuel warning light. I haven't got a manual for the car. Can anyone tell me how far i have left to drive before the fuel runs out completely. Obviously it depends on the type of driving but i wonder if Ford stated a figure.
I think there is supposed to be about 1 gal(5 lt) left, but I'm not sure that is even stated in the manual(manual in the car and its raining!!). Fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate, so the only way to be sure is carry a gallon of petrol with you and see how far you get before the tank runs out.
Experience tells me that tank holds just over 55 litres, and light goes on after 50. So, you have about a gallon's worth after the light goes on. Bad advice to run it dry to find out - can damage the carolytic converter.
