Different Avatar on Profile to one on Answers etc?

I notice that some ABer's have a different Avatar on their Profile pic to that on the answers they give.
Is this intentional,and if so how do you do it?
Elsie wants to know,as she wants to be my profile pic! LOL

This is just a "feature" of the way Gravatar works. See

What's happening on the profile page, then, is that you're looking at two different sized images for the same member and one of those images may have been cached more recently than the other. So it's not something you do intentionally and, if left alone, both images will settle down to the same image (at different sizes) ...

I shall investigate and see what I can achieve.
I am bit wary though,it took me so long to get this AV right I don't want to mess it up.
However,I WILL have a go.
